Jodi is a 60 year old lady, who looks and acts nothing like the “typical” 60 year old woman. In this episode, Jodi breaks down how she has kept her healthy lifestyle to this day. You are never too old to do something. You may be scared of aging, but it is just a number as they say. Break those barriers and stigma!
It all started at a young age, she learned that discipline, practice, posture and confidence had such a huge role. She was always athletic and ambitious, but didn’t compete for her fitness during her marriage. Her ex-husband would not let her, but this barrier did not stop her, it just momentarily put a pause on this passion.
She didn’t start competing in fitness shows until 47 years old. She wanted to live her life she was meant to live. She married at a young age, so she was told to meet the expectations of being a stay at home mom. Jodi realized that it wasn’t where she wanted to be.
Jodi decided it was time to focus on herself and her fitness goals. From there she was trained by Mr. Connecticut. He taught her everything she needed to know. When she didn’t feel supported by others, she still persevered.
Jodi wanted to demonstrate to her daughters that you do what takes care of yourself. If you are not happy and not doing what you like, you will not feel well. Self care is so important!
Jodi doesn’t like losing. She never compares herself because she understands and embraces that we are all different in many ways. She tells this to her daughters as well as her clients.
She speaks for women of all ages. There is no limit to what you can and cannot do at a certain age. Age does not define anything. Jodi encourages you to live your own life, whether it be a business, health, fitness, or journey.
